In 2021, Facebook is amping up its News Feed personalization as well as investing in 3D image capabilities, and better its technology for live events.

Because there are more ways to use Facebook than spread misinformation (you heard it here first, folks!)

Dedicated News Feed

Facebook Page manager users are now able to view a dedicated news feed, separate from their personal feed.
This new feature will allow users to discover and join conversations, follow trends, interact with peers and engage with fans, all based upon specific interests and topics.

Users will also be able to follow Pages directly from the comment section.

3D Image Uploads

Facebook now lets users publish immersive 3D photos that come to life. This feature works for any images that are taken in Portrait Mode.

When creating a post on Facebook, select “3D photo” from the upload menu.

Monetizing Live Events

Back in August, Facebook introduced a paid online event feature to allow businesses to earn revenue through virtual events such as cooking classes, podcast recordings, make-up tutorials and more.

Expansion for this feature will reach an additional 24 countries this year.

TikTok took the world by storm last year, and has proved it’s not just a platform for dancing 14-year-olds. This year TikTok has some exciting features to continue to entertain its band of loyal users.

Creator Marketplace

It’s like Tinder for brands, TikTok Creator Marketplace allows brands to browse top storytellers to see who’s a match for their next campaign. And TikTok helps with the introductions.

They’ll also get access to insights on audience demos, growth trends and best performing videos.

Q&A Features

TikTok Q&A allows creators to designate their comments as Q&A questions and respond to with either a text comment or video reply plus add a Q&A profile link to their bios. This feature also works with live videos.

The Q&A feature essentially formalizes this process by making it easier for businesses and creators, particularly those with a lot of fans — to identify and answer the most interesting questions.

TikTok has recently started rolling out a new ‘Playlists’ feature with selected creators, which enables users to group their TikTok clips into themed collections.

Right now, only select influencers are able to use the function, but TikTok plans to roll out this feature to its wider community and business accounts very soon.

Social media is constantly evolving, and so are we. Stay up to date with our New Features Blog series and elevate your social media marketing one new feature at a time.
